So for my 23rd birthday all I wanted was to tick something off the “Bucket list of sorts” and so Nadine took me to the open range zoo. Going on safari is something I’ve wanted to do for ages! But not only did we go we went in style paying the extra dosh to get up close to the animals, it was great!

Made me want to go to Africa!…. Africa would be so much better if there no people there, just animals right?

Anyway happy birthday to me and thanks to everyone’s birthday wishes.

Holidays continue and it’s great! Australia day for me means BIG DAY OUT! And this year was great!

It was a hot day full of great music and great fun and this year I wore an Australian flag as a cape (tick! Off the list) and let me just say to all those ever thinking of going to the big day out the Aussie flag cape is a must! Not only is it cool but it doubles as sun protection and you can wet it to keep you cool.

Also recently I did something I said I would do ages ago and that’s visit a friend of mine who moved to a small country town of Benalla.

Panorama009

I’d never been to Benalla so made the effort to head there for the day, my friend was happy to see me and Benalla although small was a nice town to visit.

So its holidays time and its a strange time for me, I always try to take some time off around my birthday so I can do something (so far doing nothing on my actual birthday) but never has it been as much as two weeks and because I have to book the time off so far in advance you can’t really plan for what happens.

This is were the list comes in,

“not sure what to do with your time! Well quit being lazy and tick off the list”

After spending 24hours in Mildura for Christmas I decided I needed more time to spend with friends and family, I did see them at Christmas but we didn’t really get to do the things I enjoy most with me friends like going out and having a few drinks or working on cars etc. etc. basicly everything I did when I was 18 (that was a Goodyear) it was a shame Nadine couldn’t make it. We were a few short of being the full crew again but we put in a fair effort for those missing.

13.Fly somewhere: After making the painful 7 hours drive twice in 3 days at Christmas I really couldn’t pass up flying there in 45mins at about the same cost. Sure it was a challenge to get places at times due to cars being out of order but it was part of the adventure.

17.Laser tag: We decided that laser tag would be the perfect way to work up a thirst before drinking and boy did we. It took a game to get into it but that second match we kicked arse. We decided when teamwork and defensive positions don’t work, and loud noises and scare the little kids into the back corner before going at them using team-mates as human shields…… needless to say we OWNED. ULTRA PWNAGE!

So yes had an awesome time but the best thing of all is I’ve only been on holidays for 4 days still got a week and a half to go. AWESOME!

So right now,  I’m in my hometown of Mildura a small rather hot town in Victoria Australia, Its been a while since I’ve been back for anytime longer then 24 hours and I have to say I’m enjoying it and its good me thinking.

Would I move back to Mildura? – Probley not but I miss this. If I moved back to Mildura

  • I would be near my family (including all extended family) something I really miss, every week there is a family event either BBQ, fishing or going out for dinner.
  • I would be near my friends who are all in the one spot for the first time in 4 years.
  • I’d be in the country where the land you buy is a quarter the price, and twice the size.

although they are pretty strong arguments for moving home.

  • There is some pretty seedy characters in Mildura and a higher percentage of Dickheads here then in Melbourne
  • Being near both my family and Nadine would be great but between the two of them there would be no time for just and Nadine, something I enjoy and I really hate being guilt tripped into doing stuff when all I  want to do is watch TV with Nadine.
  • The biggest point for not moving is work, or lack there of. I will never get a job in Mildura that pays as well as my job in Melbourne. Jobs is Mildura’s biggest problem (something I’m very passionate about but we’ll get to that another day.)

The bottom line, I remember the good times, Being with friends and laughing with family, spending time with Nadine, being by the water but the reality moving back will never work the way it would in my head. the place in my head is gone, Its changed its life & and you can’t go back, you can only move on. so where to?

spell check

I can’t blog without spell check, Nadine would kill me and Jess would correct me.

Picture 006

After talking about it for years i finally got contact lenses, it still feels strange but i like it, i can wear sunglasses and 3d galsses now.  1 down 29 to go. going well.

its 2010

it just occurred to me that the origenal saving private scott movie was set in 2010. So look out its world war 3 this year.

A bucket list of sorts.

So its the end of the year and its that time where everybody is all like “its been a long year” and “I’m so thankful for the year and people and” bla bla bla you know what i mean. basically its a time in which we reflect on a year past, we plan parties and going out drinking or whatever and its going the be the biggest night ever with all your friends and see fireworks.

I have got a point I’m not all negative about this.

My point is everyone gets their hopes up to be awesome, then half their friends don’t turn up or the party sucked or the place you went to sucked or you waiting all night and no fireworks happened. and boom there goes your hopes and dreams. so Relax its not a big deal! ideally I would be with my Friends at the party they are throwing in our hometown playing PlayStation and knocking back a few brews but I have to work most of new years eve so I’m stuck in Melbourne. Going to head out to a mates party and have the best time i possibly could at the same time out of the 50+ people they invited only 5 are confirmed coming. 1 being me, then Nadine, him and his girl + 1. this proves my point. what he tried to make an awesome night wont be as planned but I’ll have fun (edit: 7 people at the party had an awesome time!) . I have no expectations. the problem is there is too much going on and everyone tries so hard to make it the best and everyone’s expectations are so high. its a load a crap and with that in mind spare a thought for a friend of mine. its her birthday on the 1st of Jan, no-one ever comes to the party because they have other plans.

Anyway.

Pre 2004, I used to celebrate the end of the year by reading though all the years emails from friends and piecing together “The year that waz” an epic tale of the major events surrounding our group of friends and I considered doing that again so here it is

:The year that was..

Nothing
The end”

it sure was an epic year of nothing, When I look back i did nothing. nothing really is all that new and nothing really has changed. A bad thing? not really, Boring? hell yes. This brings me to another thing that annoys me about new years and that’s the new years resolution but I’m not going to go there… instead I’m going to get to the reason why I felt the need to blog. This is my resolutions or more my bucket list of sorts.

This list is a list of things i wish to do in 2010 and if i don’t complete these things then i may as well kick the bucket because I’m not really doing anything. hence bucket list.

Skynet?

I find it harder and harder to focus and I have a lot to blame for it but my biggest problem is my lack of computers. I have three and between them I barely have one complete working computer.

My old girl optima desktop is fine a little out of date, small hard drive and semi-broken DVD burner and no Wifi or connection to the internet (Dial up doesn’t count).

My G4 imac that just doesn’t have enough power to run programs like Photoshop anymore because the latest versions are too big and demand to much of the system making it just a Mac with nothing on it really, its shame because I brought it for video editing but HD video captures too quick for the hard drive – resulting in a fail.

3rd computer is a hand-me-down dell from Nadine after buying new ram, keyboard and USB ports of eBay and rebuilding and formatting the bitch she still wont co-operate. The screen has 5 lines down the broken screen and no working USB or expansion ports and will only run 1gb of ram even though this model should run 2gb. The CD burner works on some brands of DVDs but not many and the hard drive is only 40gb.

Overall I fell like the computers are against me and my constant battle with them stops me from getting what I want to get done. Optima, G4 & Dell…. Fail.

Welcome to the world.

Haven’t blogged for sometime now and I don’t really know why I’ve started blogging again, yet here I am. I hope to use this website as somewhere to vent and share my fascinating thoughts and such. Who knows really where we go from here we will just have to wait and see.
